    Abstract:

Endometriosis (EM) is defined by the presence of active endometrial tissue in the lining of the uterine cavity. Because its etiology and pathogenesis are unclear, the diagnosis of EM and the combined use of Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine are difficult, and thus, EM has become a research hotspot in recent years. Animal experiments are important for exploring the etiology, pathogenesis, and drug therapy of EM. This paper discussed the selection of animals, construction method , and advantages and disadvantages of various EM mouse models in an effort to provide a reference for model selection in animal research of EM.
