    Abstract:

The animal model of interstitial cystitis is critical for the study of interstitial cystitis/ bladder painsyndrome (IC/ BPS). However, many problems still exist in the establishment of the animal model. There is no goldstandard for the pathological diagnosis of IC/ BPS, and most animal models show one or several phenotypes of IC/ BPS. Inthis paper, the establishment method and applications of rat models, the most commonly used IC/ BPS rodents models, are summarized.
