    Abstract:

    The reproduction of the grey hamster living in Lab was studied on the obsveration and thedata which came from the recods during 1993-1998. The result shown that the bellicose habitatof the rodents has tured into a little docility by taming in Lab in five years, the age of sex maturity was 50d, the cycle of sex activity was 4d~4. 5d in the females, the peak of mating was from23. 00 to 1 .00 next day in the night, the gestational period was 19d (16 ~21 ), and the time interval of reproduction of adult female was 39. 25d. The number of mean farrowing was 4. 59 larvaat a litter, the survival rate of weaning was 64. 5 %, and sex ratio was 0. 883 (242/274 ), whichwere compared in the different season, times of foetus, and generations. The peak time of reproduction in female varied from 3 monthes to 12 monthes. The longest age of reproduction in femaleand male was 1. 5 year and 2 years respectively, the life -- span of the hamster was over 2. 5 year.
