Abstract:
wo inbred strains of female adult mice (C57BL/6, DBA/2) were usedas animal model with different niajor histocompatibility (MHC) in theexper inient. Samples of al logenic cartilage and syngene ic cartilage weregrafted from the thigh muscle of C57BL/6 mice. Immunogenicity of cartilagewas evaluated in vitro by means of analysing antibody-complement dependent cytotoxicity and cell med iated cytotoxicity. These data implied thatallogenic cartilage was associated with a vigorous specific immune res-ponsc, while isogenic bone did not cause significant cytotoxicity response, and have no significant difforence from negative controls. The resultssuggestLcd that C57BL/6 and DBA/2 can be used as animal model foral logenic cartilage graft ing and immunogenic ity stud ies.
